Crystal Myers is a Licensed Professional Counselor who works with adolescents age 12 and older and adults. She utilizes a relationship oriented approach to develop a safe and supportive counseling relationship to allow clients to explore and work through concerns that are causing challenges in their daily lives and relationships or creating that feeling of being stuck and unsure of what to do differently. She also incorporates mindfulness and neuroscience based approaches grounded in research that has demonstrated that changes in behavior are supported by changes in your brain. Former clients and professional colleagues frequently describe her as warm, caring, compassionate, and understanding.

She earned her M.A. in Community Counseling and EdS. and graduated summa cum laude from James Madison University. During her first year, she was awarded the graduate assistant teaching award for her dedication and commitment to excellence.

Crystal has worked in a private community agency providing family and couples therapy, acted in the role of clinical program manager for outpatient behavioral health at a large area hospital, and most recently, she was the supervisor of a busy department at a non profit agency providing crisis services to those struggling with the symptoms of serious and persistent mental illness. She has experience with a wide range of presenting issues and concerns, including depression, anxiety, those who wish to learn better communication skills, parenting, relationship problems, trauma and abuse, ADHD, obsessive compulsive disorder, conflict, grief, and self esteem issues.

Crystal has lived in the Shenandoah Valley her entire life and enjoys reading, hiking and other outdoor activities, and traveling. She has one adult son and recently relocated to Ruckersville in part to open Life Works.
